Dynatech 2000 Ignition
Dynatech now manufactures a
computerized ignition system for the Vulcan 800's. This allows the user to
alter the rev limiter and ignition curves, providing the ability to
optimize the spark timing when rejetting, changing the pipes, etc.

Above is a picture of the Dyna 2000
as installed in my bike. It replaces the stock solid state igniter, and
has provisions to utilize the OEM safety switches already on the bike.

This picture allows
you to better visualize the installation. Currently, I'm running my Dyna2000
at setting number #3, and the rev limiter at 8000 rpm. The 800 Vulcan engine
is a short stroke engine, and can really rev! My gas mileage has increased
about 10 miles/tank, and the engine starts more easily than with the stock
igniter. Setting #3 provides about 5 degrees more advance from idle through
mid-range, and the bike now has a bit more torque in that range.
