This is an old picture (probably back in '99)
of the Cobra Boulevard
Classic Slashcuts (4164SC) I picked up from Iceman with low mileage. Also,
you'll notice the front part of the pipes have the Cobra full length heat
shields (4164HS) in place.
I put these pipes on to get a little more sound from my 800 Classic. They're not quite as
"bassy" as the modified stock pipes, but I _do_ like the sound! I have since installed
Vance & Hines Cruzers on my bike, and passed these used pipes on to LoRidr. She ran them a year or
so, and passed them on to another friend. They _still_ look as good as they did when I first
got them. I wonder how many miles those pipes have on them now!
I constantly hear folks busting on Cobra pipes, about
them turning "blue"... I think this is a bum rap from waaayyy back, when most of their
pipes had no heat shields (or just those little clamp on heat shields). The newer pipes have
full length shields, and look just as good as Vance & Hines or the other competitors.
