Auxillary Stop Lamps, Red Lenses
![[vulcan pic]](bike33.jpg)
This is a picture of the rear
signal lamps, after modification to dual filament sockets and red
lenses. I recently installed a Cobra
lightbar on the front, which came with it's own signal lamps. I
cannibalized the OEM signal lamps I removed from the front for
the Frog, for their dual filament sockets, and they were a snap to install
in the rear signal housings. I then used the red lens from
the Walmart V102R ($1.98!!!) marker lights. I used the Walmart lens
in place of the amber lens that comes standard on the rear signals, so the
brake lights would be the correct color.

Above is a good picture of the
rear of the scooter with the new red lenses in place.
I used a dremel tool and belt sander
to cut down the edge diameter so as
to fit the signal lamp housings (like the stock lamps) for an area about
1/16" wide. I drilled holes to match the original lamps' mounting, and
installed. Man! It lights up the rear nicely when I step on the brake
now, and I feel a lot more comfortable when travelling in heavy traffic.
